A proven approach for measurable improvements.

More than an hour on a video call

Tuition with structure behind it.

Personalised lessons

We don’t do random, unplanned lessons. Every student is put on a structured lesson plan that responds to their current level and upcoming assessments.

Exam-focused teaching

Lessons are conducted by tutors with 1000+ hours of experience, and who received grade 9s, A*s and first-class degrees. Students learn exactly what examiners are looking for.

Tailored resources

Most tutors teach with the stuff they use for their everyday school students. Instead, we design customised lesson and revision resources for each pupil.

Direct tutor support

Students work consistently with the tutor who knows their goals and learning style. They can contact their tutor outside of lessons, ensuring no questions go unanswered.

Transparent communication

Clear, regular communication keeps parents informed, opposed to guessing whether their child is actually making progress.

Collaborative learning

Our tutors don’t lecture you with PowerPoints for an hour. Strong Students get to practice their newly acquired skills with their tutor and get feedback in real time.

One free lesson could change how your child performs in their GCSEs.

All lessons take place online via Zoom. Your child will receive a dedicated link for their free first lesson and, if you and they decide to continue, a separate recurring Zoom link for all future tuition sessions.

Your child’s first lesson is completely free and acts as a baseline assessment. We use the session to test their foundational knowledge and pinpoint the areas where they can make the greatest improvement. From there, we build a structured tuition programme around their individual needs, adapting it over time to reflect mock exams, upcoming assessments and any specific targets they are working towards.

Yes. Strong Students tutors extensive experience supporting students with a wide range of additional needs, including ADHD, autism, working-memory difficulties, PTSD and oppositional behaviours. While our lessons follow a clear overall structure, the way we teach is always adapted to the individual student. We tailor our communication style, pacing and approach to suit how they learn best, and we are happy to make further adjustments where specific accommodations are needed. If we feel that a student would be better supported by a specialist, we will be transparent about this after the free first lesson and recommend a more appropriate route where possible.

One-to-one tuition is currently £40 per hour. We also offer discounted five-hour and ten-hour lesson packages, as well as monthly tuition blocks for families who would prefer a more structured arrangement. We can discuss the most suitable option after your child’s free first lesson.

Companies like MyEdSpace have an excellent track record, but Strong Students offers something different: highly personalised, one-to-one support. Your child is not simply one student within a larger group. Their tuition programme is built around their individual strengths, weaknesses and goals, giving them considerably more direct attention and allowing lessons to adapt as their needs change. Support also continues beyond the lesson itself. Students have direct access to their tutor through a WhatsApp group chat, with parents included for transparency, so they can ask questions between sessions when they need help. Through our Revision Challenge system, students are also given structured work between lessons to consolidate what they have learned, practice key skills and continue making progress throughout the week.

Our main specialisms are AQA and Edexcel GCSE Maths and English. Sam also offers GCSE Sociology and A-level Sociology tuition. We plan to expand into GCSE Science in the future, but this is not currently available.
